Why women in our country are attracted to men that could speaking2 the England language.?

Because speaking mangled English hurts your ears (or eyes, if written down).|||From what I understand, in Malaysia, English speaking schools are regarded as superior. This means if you speak English and speak English well, you;re seen as better educated/higher status/having better prospects. I imagine it stems from that.

How can i occupy myself on the plane? As im scared...?

Hello! Im terrified of flying and on Friday i will be flying to Turkey with a Turkish Airline! I have always flew with an english airline & still was scared, but now thinking about it i guess Turkish Airlines are the same? I dont know... But yeah, im a 15 year old girl & i fly every year and my fear keeps getting worse! Is there anything i can do to make me forget about my fear. I really want to feel comfortable on a plane and stop thinking about all the bad things what could happen.. :(|||It;ll be alright! (: Guess what? I;m a 16 year old girl and I;m flying on Friday! Not to Turkey, but I;m flying. Just bring books, music...etc. anything that you like to do! There;s also anxiety medication that your doctor can give you to calm your nerves. (my mom has to take it whenever we fly) It;ll be fine!! (:xoxo|||All airlines that fly to any major airport in Europe, and indeed the world, will have to meet minimum safety standards. So there is no difference between flying with an English airline or a Turkish one, and often you might find that the other nation;s airline is more luxurious or spacious.Good ways to keep yourself occupied are to take a book that you will enjoy reading and just focus on that, or to take some music that you can listen to, or a game you can play.As for the bad things that could happen, well I did a post on this already today but I;ll repeat. There are millions and millions of people travelling each year and 99.9% of those never have a single problem with their flight. Statistically you;d have to fly every day for some insane number of years to even come close to having a crash in a plane. Then there is the fact that planes don;t just fall out of the sky, they are very tough and resilient. They can stay in the air for a good distance without any engines working at all, and they can land like that too. The wings can be flexed to amazing angles without breaking. And there are any number of safety systems that make air travel the safest way to travel.Of course bad things have happened in the past, but each of those things has made air travel safer and safer each time. Planes have landed safely in some pretty extreme circumstances, and pilots are amazing people.Don;t worry about something which is as likely to happen as you winning the lottery two weekends in a row. You will get on the plane, the journey will be utterly uneventful and you will get off at the other end and have an amazing holiday. It is pretty much guaranteeed.

New York or New Jersey Directions HELP !!!?

I am traveling with my husband and three children. I am from Boston. I booked a hotel at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel in Weehawken, NJ. If it is wise to take a train I don;t know how or where to do it. I am stressing because we want to rent a car but the car will cost us $500 and from what I looked at so does the train commute and airfare is to much. Maybe someone from that area knows a better way. Please help :(|||drive.|||I think driving would be your best bet. Its about 4& half hours to drive though :/ (219 miles)|||I;d drive. It is a short drive. Can we cancel our booking?

we have to cancel our booking dated aug.8.because of personal reason.can we have refunds for the tickets..we used credit card for the payments, thanks and more power..|||Depend on what type of tickets or booking you have made? if you have book non-refundable or non-flexible tickets, you are probably not entitled to a refund. Some airlines will offer to change the date if you are able to travel later, otherwise you could simply request a refund, and see what they say, look at the terms and conditions. You could also look to see if any travel insurance you have, covers for the events to are having to cancel for? This is a long short though!

Their odds are even worse than regular casinos. Whatever you do, don;t play bingo. Their payouts are very small. They print a daily schedule for your cruise, so you will know exactly what;s going on.|||Yeah. They;ll have a casino. Onboard activities are golf (just practicing driving), pingpong, basketball, shows, other organized activities...You should expect bad food and terrible service. Whee in Hong Kong can i go for some peaceful fishing?

Ok so i am from Canada and i have lived here for 2 years and have not yet gone out for fishing. I have fishing rods and a full tackle box and i am itching to fish. I have never fished for salt water fish so if there is anything specific i need to know then please fill me in. Also a website that could help me identify which fish i can catch and eat would be nice as well. Also is there any regulations about fishing, like limits, and fish you are restricted to catch??OK so i dont want to go to the harbour at Tsim Sha Tsui and fish like the old people do. The fish they catch are honestly 2 inches long and you would need 20 to feed one person. I dont want to go somewhere that there is 1,000,000 people because i can go anywhere in hong kong to find that. I want a somewhat secluded place that i can go, even if its just people fishing thats fine i just dont want the tourist traps like repulse bay where you cant even fish anyways. I know of Sai Kung but i am not sure how to get there and i dont know if i can just fish off the rocks there or if i need to charter a junk. I would like to charter a junk one day but i want to do that when my father comes back to hong kong, not now. My girlfriend told me there is a beach at Wu Kai Sha but i have never been there before. ANY help would be much appreciated, thank you so much!

Does anyone know any good spots to visit while in canada?

I am going on a road trip with the family and if anyone lives there or has been there, tell me some spots that are good to visit....thank you|||It depends where you;re going to be, cause there are many good spots in completely different areas. These are just a few places in Ontario, but there;s many more and of course a ton in other provinces, as well:Niagara: You can go visit the Niagara Falls, and take a boat to go near there or there;s something new where you can go "behind the falls". You don;t have to just see the falls, you can also go to many restaurants or interactive places (if memory serves me right, I think there was a Ripley;s Believe it or Not place and a Ferris wheel?)Ottawa: Of course, the capital of Canada is a great place to actually see where everything happens. of course you should go see the Parliament building, and i think you can take a tour around there.Toronto: I highly suggest you go to Toronto because of the amount of places there are to go. There is the Toronto Zoo, (to see animals!) The Royal Ontario Museum (the ROM) has a ton of cool things to see. If there is a concert or something going on in Toronto, and you buy tickets, you can see it in the Air Canada Centre, or Rogers Centre (I saw the Bon Jovi Concert there!) and of course, no visit to Toronto is complete without a trip to the CN tower (if you go there, stand on the glass floor, and I highly suggest you go on a sunny day for great pictures, but again when it;s dark, when the tower turns on its colourful lights, which is also great for pictures :)But remember, these are just a few spots, there;s so much more to do in Canada!I hope you have tons of fun in my country!|||Hum, eat Lobster in Halifax in the morning and take a boat ride in Victoria at night?

To Singaporeans: do you fear Singapore will become an "amusement park"?

Not literally of course, but essentially. I mean, Singapore doesn;t have a lot of reasons to draw tourist: it lacks the history that many other nations have. It;s really just a city. Yet, to draw tourist, the government is making casinos and amusement parks and things like that. People will decide to go there just for these tacky reasons and to shop. It;s just going to be another NYC or Las Vegas: full of tacky tourist things, engulfing the locals on the obnoxious. How do you feel?|||singapore is too small and too ;asian; to ever become a tourist magnet. Attractions and such can only bring in tourists for a while, the community is whats important if you want returning toursits. Right now, singapore is no match compared to fellow asian toursity places such as hong kong, shanghai, japan, thailand, malaysia. Singapore has nothing to offer, no matter how many attractions it builds, simple as that. and no, it will not become another nyc or vegas

When paying for a fishing trip in Canada, is it better to pay in U.S. cash or Canadian cash?

Last year, our resort wrote up our bill, calculated the conversion rate and then charged our credit card. I thought by using a credit card we got the best exchange rate but it seems like they might be pulling a bit of a fast one. Thought if I brought cash instead, I could avoid their games.|||I;m sure Canadian money would definately be better for it is Canada. Like how us Americans may get annoyed with Canadian cash, we want the REAL stuff. Really if American money is worth more then I;d bring a fotune with me buy the country.|||Pull out cash, don;t ask for a receipt and you;ll get a deal.|||Odd - the resort is within it;s rights to charge a fair bit extra to make the exchange. Normally, they would just bill the credit card company, and then the bank would make the exchange - usually at a fairly decent rate. It might not have been a fast one, but it certainly was not the best way for you!As for paying in US cash - if they took it, and that is a big if, they may not, they would certainly charge a much higher percentage than a bank. Banks deal in large volumes, so can give better rates (although still not as good as an electronic transfer). However, a business bringing in a relatively small amount gets charged a high rate, so they will pass that on to the customer, with likely a surcharge to handle all the fuss. Best would be to just hand over the card, have it charged in Canadian dollars, and let the bank figure out the actual charge in US funds (with their smaller fees).|||It would be best to pay in Canadian dollars. Most border towns will offer a decent exchange rate, but in all honesty if you try and pay in US dollars in a smaller town they may not accept it. Generally if they do accept it, you;ll get the crap end of the deal. My husband is a Canadian but is a truck driver and often has US money. A few times we;ve been out of cash and he;s only had his work money on him. A few times when the dollar has been about par with Canada weve taken a LOSS using american money despite what the bank rates are. Just change it to Canadian.

Laser Restrictions for US?

I am thinking of buying a 200mW green laser pointer, I am currently living in the US. Does anyone know of any regulations for shipping lasers to the US that are over 5mW? would this laser be accepted under US customs?|||The rules depend on where you live like I;m in Nyc I can;t get one since its in the metro area and might be used as a weapon or somethin nuts but most other places can get it there were even site like wickedlasers.com I think google it man and then ship me one I want one too! Haha (I was serious)

Disney Tickets (Orlando, FL)?

Before I start searching all over the place for tickets I think I;ll try the yahoo folks. Anyone know of the cheapest place to grab Disney Theme Park Tickets plus Universal Studio Tickets?|||Be careful, there are a lot of unauthorized dealers. Disney doesn;t accept tickets from an unauthorized dealer. I;ve been there when people were trying to use their tickets, they bought unauthorized one, Disney doesn;t let you in and comfiscates the tickets... leaving you at the gate. Seen it happen. It;s not pretty. Tears. Anger. Frustration... sad. Disney is pretty strict on this, and it;s usually easy to catch now with the finger scanners. Most unauthorized dealer buy up partially used tickets and upgrade them-- but tickets are non-transferrable, so the tickets are attached to someone;s finger scan, and when yours doesn;t fit it, you;re out of luck. Most authorized dealers tickets are going to be about the same price. Disney controls tickets carefully.|||I am also hunting around for tickets. I found some good deals via one of my timeshare units. They are authorized and you don;t need to be a timeshare owner. They currently have some free upgrades such as an 8 day ticket with 9th & 10th day upgrade free - costs $232.76 for adults, $201.15 for kids, plus tax. There;s also some savings on multi day tickets for Universal Studios.|||MSB is correct. If you find tickets for a lot less, then do not buy them. You can find slight discounts for tickets. You can look on the site below for help. read through their ticket facts. I highly recommend only buying WDW tickets from WDW.|||"Shared passes" that you see at the roadside stands are against policy and also happen to be against the law in Florida. Don;t stop at one of those places. Additionally, there is no way to tell by looking at them if they are real. You could get to the gate to discover they are unusable. And guess what, neither Disney nor Universal will help you since you purchased unauthorized tickets. All tickets plainly say that they are nontransferrable. So if you want to be sure you are buying legitimate and legal tickets, buy straight from them, at the gate or online. Universal will save you a little by purchasing online. Disney won;t, but you can save time waiting in line. There are also a couple of *authorized* discount dealers. AAA is authorized if you are a member. Also, http://www.mapleleaftickets.com and http://www.undercovertourist.com are authorized and you don;t have to be a member.

Are people in japan superstitious?

How many miles between lebanon oregon and tacoma washington?

Are people in japan superstitious?

there are superstitious people in every country.|||usually depends on their religion. i know i;m not supposed to give orchids since that;s traditionally used in funerals or something.and like in chinese, shi (4) means death.|||You find people like that everywhere, but although I rent a parking spot that should be number 4, it is labeled number 5. They throw some salt around there doors when coming home from a funeral. They believe the spirits of their ancestors come home every year, and have ceremonies to celebrate the reunion. They regularly put out rice and water in little shrines in their houses to feed the spirits of their dead ancestors. So, yeah, I would say a bit superstitious.|||Like any country Japan has its own superstitions. Things like the number 4 and 9 being unlucky, never cut your nails at night, don`t whistle at night and never open an umbrella inside as it brings bad luck.|||Yes, just like everywhere else in the world. But believe in different things like Karma for instance. Comes around goes around is one of their common strong beliefs. Here the another example; Before the world war 2, many Japanese believed the emperor of Japan was a descendant of God. Whereas, Christians believe Jesus Christ is the son of God. Also, Number 13 and 666 don’t mean anything to them at all. Different culture different believe.|||Yes they have lots of superstitions there. My favorite is when they see an outsider wearing a hat it symbolizes the death of a baby. So anyone whenever they see this the youngest woman nearby will start to cry out and you will get chased down the streets until they get a hold of the hat to burn it. If you do have this happen just give up the hat because if it is still on your head when they set it on fire it is not even considered a crime.

Planning a roadtrip from SW Chicago - where should I go?

Hi everyone, thanks for any kind of help/input you can give.I am planning on a 4 day/3 night roadtrip and would just like any ideas for good places to visit.I live an hour southwest from Chicago, IL and will be stopping by the University of Illinois - Urbana/Champaign (which is about 1-2 hours south from me) for one day, so any other places I visit I would like to be on the way to UofI or not have to make any back-tracking north. Also, since its a relatively short roadtrip, I would prefer places that are not too far away, ideally 12 hours or less of travel time to the farthest spot (which would get me to North Carolina). The states that I;m considering are:simply staying in IllinoisIndianaTennesseeNorth Carolinabut I honestly do not much about tourism in Arkansas, Kentucky, or Missouri - which all surround Illinois and are pretty close too.If you have any suggestions or information - it would be greatly appreciated! We;re into haunted spots/culture - museums, theaters/historic landmarks. Thanks again!

What should i do? any ideas? thanks a bunch?|||You can rent a hall in Queens and have a party or use a teen club below.http://www.clubcemetery.comThe 118 might be best since they are 14 and up.|||Well if seeing Wicked is an option you should definitely do that—it;s amazing!! Depending on what day you;re having the party, you guys could do one of the movies in the park ... that;s a real Summer-in-New-York experience, and best of all it;s free! There;s something great about sitting out on blankets, surrounded by hundreds of other people, and watching a movie outside while surrounded by skyscrapers . . . it;s kinda like NYC;s answer to the drive-in movie. The one in Bryant park gets full really fast... you have to get there right at 5pm when the lawn opens up to stake out a good spot & the movie usually starts around 8 or 9 ... but people bring all sorts of things to keep themselves entertained (food, cards/games, even laptops since there;s free wifi). Some of the others aren;t quite so crazy, but you should still get there early. Here;s a listing for all of the free movies coming up in various NYC parks:>> http://www.nycgovparks.org/events/free_s…One place I always bring friends is Max Brenner ... I avoided it for a little while because I was afraid that it was just a tourist trap, but now I love it. They have every kind of chocolate dessert imaginable ... s;mores where you roast the marshmallows at the table and top them with caramelized bananas & vials of melted chocolate, ridiculously gooey chocolate cake that you scoop & eat straight out of the pan with a spatula, chocolate pizza . . . and their non-dessert food is pretty good too! Everyone who;s gone with me has loved it. If you go to their website and click "menu," you can see pictures of some of their food... it all looks amazing.>> http://www.maxbrenner.com/branches.htmlI know you can get mani/pedis anywhere, but that;s another thing I love doing when I have friends in town ... NY has some great spas (Bliss is amazing!).I also just went to a pole dancing class the other day that was really fun ... don;t know if that;s too "adult," but the class wasn;t crazy or anything. It;s a lot of fun--it;s all girls, and everyone wears tank tops and either shorts or capris, so it;s pretty tame. Just an idea for something different. The teacher was really nice and the room was super cute (it;s decorated in pink & black)...http://www.nypoledancing.com/Also, check out http://www.groupon.com, http://www.lifebooker.com, http://www.giltcity.com & http://www.dailyflock.com ... they have different deals every day for all sorts of things to do in the city. Sometimes they;re lame or not applicable, but a lot of times they offer spa services, food & other stuff at a pretty significant discount. You might find something that would fit in with your day of partying there... you might have to check back each day to find something you actually want. You could also find a stylist (or an FIT student looking for extra cash) on craigslist and have them accompany you and your friends on a shopping trip ... you wouldn;t even have to go somewhere fancy, but how much fun would it be to have a stylist help you weed through all the stuff at H&M/Forever 21/Century 21 and show you what to put together??Hope some of this is helpful!!

A relative of mine acquired a samurai sword during WWII. Is it possible to find the original owner?

Is New York City dangerous?

I want to be a police officer, But I want to go to a city that has action. I live in a small town but I want to go to the city and be an officer. I want to have action but everyone I ask says something different. I want to go to a city that has action but not necessarily so dangerous. So what about New York?|||I wouldn;t go to New York City, Detroit, Chicago, LA, any of the big cities in Texas, or Washington D.C. I would probably go to Seattle, or Denver|||I currently live in NYC (queens to be exact, just moved from the bronx) and even though i came from the hood i feel safe. The police officers here do a really good job in their field and the city is so big there;s always a lot of action. It is not as dangerous as it seems. Im sure you;d love working for the NYPD|||Its dangerous if your not street smart. You have to be smart about what you are doing and I;m sure they will teach you about that in the academy. But coming from a small town it might be a little harder than if you grew up in a big city. I;m sure you can do it.|||As long as you;re not being obviously stupid (walking alone in a dark alley at 3 am) you;ll be fine. I am moving from NC to Knoxville, TN?

Can anyone give me information on Knoxville such as good areas to live in zip codes would help? Also, where are some good places that i can take my daughter? Can you take make up as a carry-on on a airplane?

I;m going to be taking liquid foundation, face and eye primer, eyeshadow, gel eyeliner, mascara, pencil eyeliner, blush and lip glossI;m also going to be taking perfume, hair detangler, shampoo/conditioner, heat protectant, toothpaste, deoterant, soap and saline solution for my contact lenses. If everything is under 3.oz can I take it and put it in my purse? Also can you take a hair straightner with you or should I leave that in my suit case? Also if its more than 3 oz can I pour it into a clear 3 oz container.|||yes. you can have as many 3.4 oz containers as you want as long as they all fit into a quart size zip lock bag. all your makeup and things have to fit into one carry on bag. you can bring a hair straightener in your carry on if you want. if you are really concerned about something just put it in your checked bag.|||Anything that;s a liquid, gel, paste, lotion, cream or aerosol must be in a container 3.4 oz. (100mL) or less and be placed in a clear plastic one-quart zip-top baggie. If it;s solid (like your blush, eyeliner and eye shadow) it does NOT have to go in the baggie. And yes, you CAN pour over-sized liquids into a container 3.4 oz. or smaller; I have done this before, just make sure the container has the size printed on it. All of the things you mentioned are totally fine to have in your carry-on.If you run out of room in your liquids baggie before you get everything in, you can always leave the saline solution out of the baggie. Saline solution is a medical exemption to the 3-1-1 rule; all you have to do is declare it to a TSA officer once you get to the security checkpoint.

Graduation Trip to Toronto or Vancouver, Canada.?

I was trying to decide where to have my graduation trip for when I graduate high-school this year. I LOVE Canada and really want to go to either Vancouver or Toronto. My question is, what is there to do in both? I know Toronto has the CN Tower, which I am DYING to see. But what does Vancouver have to offer? Thank you!|||I;ve been to both and prefer Vancouver. There;s fantastic shopping in both cities, as well as great restaurants and museums. Vancouver has a few things that you don;t get in Toronto. Being a coastal city, there;s the beach/ocean. Vancouver Aquarium is spectacular. Stanley Park is gorgeous if you;re interested in that kind of thing. Granville Island is good for at least a day of entertainment. Assuming this is your high school graduation, so you;re probably not worried about nightlife (though I enjoyed the Vancouver scene more, personally).|||I;m sure you will get lots of answers from Canadians (I gather you;re not Canadian, but maybe I;m wrong), so I;ll try to answer before this turns into a battle between Vancouver and Toronto, because when you get past the nitty gritty, they are both great cities. I;ll focus more on the cut and dry perspective...-People often complain about the cleanliness in Toronto (at least where I;m from)-I have heard many people say on numerous occassions that Toronto has all the bad qualities of a big city, and none of the good ones-Toronto is really hot in the summer (especially this year)-Toronto CAN be less friendly than other cities-The CN Tower is really nice-Toronto has an interesting cultural diversity-Toronto is in a few hours driving distance from several other cities, including Ottawa and Montreal -The weather in Vancouver is almost always RAINY-Vancouver has tons of arts and culture and has an up-and-coming film industry -Vancouver is usually really cheap to fly to and from -Vancouver is close to Victoria, which is also nice.BEST BET: Think about it some more given the choices.|||You don;t where you are at now. Overall there is more to do in toronto area than vancouver. for one thing you are close to Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and Montreal is within reach. Vancouver is close to nothing...unless you can travel to US. In Toronto you have tons of places like Canada;s Wonder Land and other amusement parks. Vancouver has nothing except nature *yawn*|||Vancouver is not always rainy, the summertime is really nice and does not get as hot as toronto, so you won;t be melting. And yeah lots of naturey things to do like stanley park, gorgeous beaches, grouse mountain, Queen Elizabeth park. Tons of shopping to be done in both cities. If you head out to Vancouver, you should definitely check out whistler and possibly go bungee jumping or ziplining there :)

Ok so I am going to see my gf in Tucson, AZ in Sept. and have looked at two different hotels for us to stay in?

Where is the best place, for a family, to live in alexandria va? We may be moving from MS soon.?

I want a good family oriented and safe neighborhood with GREAT SCHOOLS that are safe as well!! Oh and are pet friendly as well. Any help would be great! Thanks|||I;d suggest Arlington over Alexandria. The schools are much better in Arlington--amongst the best in the nation. Also, Arlington has a number of dog runs--public parks with fenced areas where dogs can be taken off the leash to run around with each other. The only drawback to Arlington is that housing prices are expensive. Basically anywhere in Arlington is quite good, with the best neighborhoods being in the northern part of the county.

What do Jews make of these verses?

From the New Testament,"Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised. If those who are not circumcised keep the law;s requirements, will they not be regarded as though they were circumcised? The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man;s praise is not from men, but from God."(Romans 2:25-29)"You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews." (John 4:22, said by Jesus btw)and this whole chapter... http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?sea…|||I cannot speak for Jews as im not a learned Rabbi, or someone who has devoted his time to studying the bible. But I will answer as a Jew.The way I see it, There are two things required by Jews, to make the covenant with god through circumcision. And to carry out the law of god, which is way a person lives his life. When christianity came about they were looking for ways for people to be able to become the ;observant; of the religion without having to follow a strict diet or having to make the act of circumcision. So it was decided that a person who follows the law, though the law itself is different, only has to be circumcised in soul and spirit, and not in flesh. The way I see it, both adherence and covenant have to be madeThe way a christian sees it, adherence is enough and the covenant is the love for god|||I and jews in general wont make much of it - if anything at all... Can you understand that as jews we dont believe in jesus? he wasnt a prohpet or a teacher or wise man - he was at best one of many jews in history who claimed to be the messiah but did not fullfil the messianic prophecy. There for the new testament - and indeed any teachings, quotes, ideas, thoughts, images etc from it have no impact on us jews or our faith. we are not moved by what it says, we do not take time to think about what it says and quotes from it have no meaning to us... to explain further - its like this .. I could find many quotes from the Bhaghavad Gita - a Hindu religious scripture. If i wrote them here and said they were talking about christians - what impact would it have on you?? would you be moved by them? would you think they speak the truth? would it inspire you to change your religioun? or would you dismiis them - and infact the whole faith - as something you do not believe in and so has no impact or meaning to you... its the same exactly with jews and these quotes... sorry to be harsh - but its been 2000 years and it beggars belief that christians havent grasped this by now...|||jews in general don;t care much about the new testament, so these verses just don;t care about these verses.|||We Jews adhere to the Jewish Bible. The Christian Bible holds no meaning to us.|||Damn, sometimes it surprises me that people do not understand the simplest things. Jews do not believe in Jesus. If they did, they would be Christians. So, you can quote the New Testament from sunrise until sunset, and we shall only yawn before going to sleep. What´s not clear?|||As a Jew reading 1st/2nd century history, I keep noticing all of the places that Christianity misrepresents Judaism - practices, texts, 1st century leadership, the people, and so on. That is absolutely crucial to keep in mind. Christianity doesn;t understand Judaism. The Roman approach to religion was heavily syncretic. They freely ;borrowed; elements from every religion they encountered and adapted them to suit themselves. Jews who wanted to integrate with Hellenic thought got their basic Judaism right. Christianity didn;t, so it;s far more likely that it came about from non-Jews attempting to incorporate Jewish elements which they didn;t really grasp.Circumcision was a very political issue. Romans were quite opposed to it in general. It was also prohibited as retribution for Judean attempts to regain their independence and self-rule. In at least one case, it was accompanied by a thorough attempt to eradicate Jewish identity altogether. All of which makes that passage rather curious. In your chapter of ;Romans;, Paul claims that Jews would be envious of gentile salvation. There;s a wee problem with that. There isn;t anything in Judaism that we need saving from, except the whims and wrath of imperial powers. Hellfire and eternal torment are from the Hellenic mystery religions. Right there, Paul destroys (yet again) his claims to understanding Judaism. As such, why should Jews accord his writings any validity whatsoever?|||I can;t talk for others, but I make it that the author doesn;t know a lot about Judaism.. Besides that not much.. Why should we make anything special out of it? It;s Christian scriptures, not Jewish, so I don;t think many Jews would spend much time in reading it;o)..|||If it;s from the New Testament then it;s irrelevant to Jews. We don;t accept the New Testament as word of God/inspired by God it;s nothing more than a book.

Knives checking in at airport?

So im going to Hong Kong so I am thinking of probably buying some knives there since its a lot more cheaper and stuff like that. So if i get a few knives and bring them back to the US in my check in luggage I would be fine? They wont stop me? hold my luggage? or junk like that?|||You can not take any knives with your carry-on luggage. Aka, you can not have access to knives or any weapon while you are in the airport or on the plane. If you want to take that stuff, you must either ship it via mail or check your bags to be handled by the staff and stashed under the plane.|||According to the TSA, knives are acceptable in checked luggage. Obviously, knives won;t fly as a carry-on item. More than likely, as I know they do with fire-arms, the pilots will be notified of what is in your luggage. If you don;t mind that, go ahead and find the biggest katana you can stuff in your suitcase. Hoped this helped|||I live in Asia (not HK), and have friends that buy knives and bring them back to the states often.Of course they are not allowed in carry on baggage, but are fine to bring in your checked luggage. Be careful if you;re buying knives such as switchblades, they can be illegal to possess in many states and can be confiscated. Otherwise, knives in your check-in luggage are perfectly fine.

I am traveling to Canada from the US. My passport expires Aug. 30th, 2010. I will have my client (a model) with me.With all the chaos that's been happening in Oakland lately, will that walk be safe? Or should we budget a cab?|||There has not been that much chaos in Oakland. Pull yourself together. It's not like people just walk around with guns and shoot random strangers on the street. Murders are less prevalent that you think.

I need a hotel with a private hot tub, or jacuzzi bath for two in the lake district or North west?

I am looking for a hotel with a private jacuzzi or hot tub, in the lake district or northwest england. We are looking to stop this week so need suggestions pretty quick lol! help!!! :D|||Decide a smaller area in the Lake District or a Town/City in the N.W. then find the contact details of the relevant "Tourist Information Office" on the internet, and ask the experts on the spot. They will be able to give you plenty of other details about your holiday area, such as "Things to Do", "Places to See and Visit" at the same time.

I would like to live and work in us for 2 years.I am in the hospitality field with years of experience.A friend who was working in a hotel(us) told me about her experience and i would like to try.How to find someone who is willing to hire and do the paper work needed?

Is it ok for a 16 year old teenager to visit Dublin on her own?

Next summer i will be 16 and kind of convinced my parents to let me go to Dublin for 15 days and stay at a hotel. Would it be safe for me? Would there be any problems since i'm underage? Also i'd be glad if you can mention a few tips about visiting Dublin.|||Yes you should be OK if you dont drink so much you almost die and walk home at night from the club which i know must be the Nr 1. objective on the check list of teens but dont cause you will most likely get raped in Dublin. Here you go for some sightseeing tips etc. :D http://travel.nytimes.com/travel/guides/europe/ireland/dublin/attractions.html|||you would have to check with the hotel in advance, they all have their own policies and you don't want to get there and then be asked for id. i presume you are going with friends, so yes in dublin you will have trouble getting into clubs and pubs, they know a fake id when they see one and no club wants to be filled with kids anyway.

HELP! My partner & I are relocating to Indy from Chicago -need a quiet gay friendly...?

...community to buy a home not downtownWe are actively searching for a new home and have seen a blurb that Plainfield is gay-friendly - can anyone share their thoughts? email - djguenin@comcast.net - type INDY RELOCATION - in subject line please.|||It might be too far south, but Homewood/Flossmoor is not only nice but gay friendly. Oak Park, Evanston and Skokie are known to be very open and liberal.

Is it legal to dance in a fountain in Paris, Rome or London?

I'm going to these three places, could I get in serious trouble for dancing/swimming in the fountains?|||It's illegal to dance, swim or frolic in the fountains of all those cities and you can be fined if caught. However, I have seen people wading through London fountains during a heatwave.

Help for uae wages protection system?

Today, I received a letter from UAE labour, which remind my company to register in their Wages Protection System. I get the information about WPS from labour website that the company has to have a registration for WPS if the total numbers of company's employees are 15 or above, but my company's employees are only 4. I want to get any suggestion from you before i am going to talk to the labour about this issue.|||Well WPS is being done all over uae, recently it was done in geoservices, where some one i knw works. The reason this is being done is because people in uae just take loan from banks and run back to their home country. With WPS taking loan would be made difficult, as then there will be more vigilance. Well your case is different, and i am not sure what conditions apply to those who have less no of employees in their company.

Road Trip Suggestions (NW to SW and back in USA)?

I have always dreamed of this road trip:Seattle, along Oregon and California coasts to San Francisco, cut east to Las Vegas, north a little to Zion/Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park in Utah, then south to Grand Canyon (AZ), see some New Mexico cliff dwelling ruins, up through Colorado and to Salt Lake City, UT, then through Yellowstone/Grand Teton toward Sun Valley, ID, then Spokane, WA and back to Seattle.I have plugged it all in to Google maps, and gotten a nice little trip plan. However, I am not sure what I even want to see, or why I want to go to all these places. I love hiking & camping (would probably drive a small sedan and bring a tent - and plenty of motel money, too). I also love photography and the scenery of the Southwest. My question is: Have you been to these places? Better, have you road-tripped in this area? What did you like? What was off-the-beaten-path? What didn't you like? Any revisions you'd make? (I know, I know, it's all based on what I want to see - but just give me some suggestions to start with.)Also, any general road trip suggestions? (e.g. "You won't like driving as much as you think you will!")Thanks!|||It sounds like a wonderful trip. I have road tripped around many of the places you mention but not all in one go. you don't say how long you plan to take. I would say you need 5 or 6 weeks to have a chance of actually seeing the places on your trip as opposed to just driving through.I attach several links to trips I have done that will give you a flavour of what there is to see and do.

Any ideas for 1 or 2 days vacation places in PA?

Scranton or Harrisburg.|||It depends on what you want to do. If you like touring, try Gettysburg. The battlefield and all around it can be a one day or two day trip. You can even stay in a "haunted" hotel. Hershey Park is always fun and you can tour the Chocolate World too.Knoebels is great, or Lake Tobias. Check them out online. How about a weekend in Philly? The poconos? So much to do in PA.

Can a non-Japanese person enter Miss Japan?

I am European descent but I was born in Japan and both myself and my parents are Japanese citizens. So long story short, can I enter the Miss Japan contest or do you have to be ethnic Japanese? Also, if I can enter, do I really have a shot at winning? I'm blonde, blue eyed, and I'm 5'10 so there's not really any possibility someone would mistake me for being haafu or anything.|||Yes, you can enter the contest. Your chances of winning are very low, that goes for ethnic Japanese too.The fact that you're posting the question here makes me think you can't read or speak Japanese very well. If that's the case you have no chance.|||If you have Japanese citizenship, yes you can.|||You are a Japanese citizen. That makes you Japanese. You have the passport to prove it, right? Well, IMHO, you can give it a try. This is not the best forum for definitive answers, but you would seem to qualify. As for you do have a chance of winning? If you are in the contest, you have a chance. But I find it very strange that you are blonde and blue-eyed. Black hair and brown eye genes are dominant, so how did you end up with blonde hair and blue eyes?Be that as it may, it sounds like you have the right to enter. Blonde hair and blue eyed, well, that brings a new perspective into play, because you are going to stand out. That could be good, that could be bad. Who knows. But it sounds like you have the right.|||It depends on the contest rule or the association's judge. If you are genuine Japanese citizen, it seems you should have the right to apply the competition though. The story you said is very strange anyway. If people are really Japanese citizen, they usually don't post such question in English here.

What do you think of the new St Anns SquareThe new neo-classical square laid out last year , some news papers thinks its an eyesore , i myself really like it , what do you thinkA Blight or Gem|||Sorry, can't agree with you. My opinion is that is featureless, coldly stark and altogether lacking in character.|||i am fromm near st anns and it adds nothing to my town|||I like it.I know where you got this from, I read something about this 'Carbuncle Cup' awards, and there are far more deserving buildings for an 'ugly building' award, such as the Royal Mail head office in Toome Street. The Odyssey - it was good when it opened in the late 90's but it has aged badly in the last few years and needs a lot done to it to pull itself out of the past. The many high rise 1960's blocks of high rise flats.

How do Polish communities view illegitimate births?

As far as I understood (and, correct me if I'm wrong), abortion is illegal in Poland although it is performed somewhat discreetly so I guess it's not too uncommon to have a high rate of illegitimate births. However, I'm talking from a social point of view. Is it socially acceptable to have illegitimate births within your average-Joe Polish families?

Don't expect 4 seasons in Colorado

Here in Colorado we just have 3 seasons - summer, autumn, and winter. The leaves turn yellow (trees that turn other colors don't grow here), so don't expect those rich reds, oranges, and browns they have in New England.

There are lots of VA medical centers all over Colorado, but only 2 VA hospitals - in Denver and in Grand Junction. Grand Junction, however, is a long ways from the Rocky Mountains, so you are looking at living within a 100 miles or so of Denver. (I have heard veterans can use hospitals on military bases as well; if this is true, then you have a lot more options, particularly around Colorado Springs, a popular location for veteran retirees).
