If I had 1-1/2 days in Bruges, Brussels, what are the things to do?

I;m going to Bruges, Brussels from London via Eurostar. Please recommend a good 3 or 4-star hotel to stay in a convenient location. Please also recommend places to go, things to do and food to eat. Thanks!
