Where is the best place, for a family, to live in alexandria va? We may be moving from MS soon.?

I want a good family oriented and safe neighborhood with GREAT SCHOOLS that are safe as well!! Oh and are pet friendly as well. Any help would be great! Thanks|||I;d suggest Arlington over Alexandria. The schools are much better in Arlington--amongst the best in the nation. Also, Arlington has a number of dog runs--public parks with fenced areas where dogs can be taken off the leash to run around with each other. The only drawback to Arlington is that housing prices are expensive. Basically anywhere in Arlington is quite good, with the best neighborhoods being in the northern part of the county.
