Resisitors for Tube Electronics.

Are all resistors created equal?
When it gees to resistors for tube radios and tube based electronics, all resistors are not created equal.
Unlike transistor based electronics, tube electronics (tube radios, tube amplifiers, tube televisions, tube jukeboxes, tube ham gear etc.) require resistors that can handle high voltages and withstand very high temperatures. Resistors that are suitable for transistor radios may not be suitable for use in your tube electronics. When selecting resistors for tube based electronics....in addition to getting the correct ohm value and wattage.....it is important that the resistors have a voltage rating that is high enough. The original carbon geposition resistors in your tube radio most likely had a working voltage rating of 350 Volts. When replacing old carbon geposition resistors, it is important that they be replaced with resistors that have a working voltage equal to or higher than the original resistors. If lower voltage resistors are used....there is the risk of failure.
Many modern day 1/2W resistors made of metal oxide, carbon film, metal film, etc are rated at "less" than the required 350 volts. Also, almost all types of resistors manufactured now-a-days are manufactured with either "small" size bodies or "normal" size bodies. Cheaper "small" body type resistors have a lower working voltage than their "normal" body size counterpart. The "small" body type resistors (which are almost always rated at less than 350 volts) are fine for most transistor radios....but they can not handle 350V. If you are restoring tube based electronics "small" body type resistors should be avoided. Many traditionalists like to replace their old off-spec carbon geposition resistors with new carbon geposition resistors. If you replace old 1/2 watt carbon gep resistors with modern day resistors, be sure that they are "normal" body type and are rated at 350 volts or higher. To "play it safe" many enthusiasts that repair/restore/build tube radios and electronics replace 1/2W carbon geposition resistors with modern day 1 watt "flame proof" resistors....a practical choice.

Forcing Windows to install drivers.

Hi,Sometimesyou download a driver from the manufacturers web site and still when you try to set it up by the .exe file it gives some errors or says 'No device found' . But if you go and take a look to your hardware list you can see that device. There is an old way to force the Windows(95 ,98 , XP ,Vista and 7). You can go to the device manager by right clicking 'My geputer'than find the device in that list that you want to install the driver. Right click the device in the list andselect'Update Driver Software'. Then there will pop-up a new window with 2 options , you will choose 'Browse my geputer' and there will be 2 options again and you willselect'Let me pick from a list'. After that there is 2 possible window views:

Buy.com VS Buy s

Buy.ge has been the talk of the town for a number of years now since the late 1990's. Back when Scott Blum was running the outfit it was a good place to due business. But when he sold the gepany for the 2nd time to Rakuten they started scamming people by shipping damaged and broken items , Canceling orders without sending a email to the buyer , And changing prices by raising them 25 to 30% or more over a weekend or holiday then dropping them back down the next day. Now they sell on okay to under the name "Buy" look it up they have 2 million + feedback and have more then 10 million items listed, How is the smaller okayers to do business with this going on. And the best part is that buy is charged less fee's then a small okayer that allows buy to "SPAM" okay with their items and crush the little guys like me who are trying to make a living on okay because I am 82 years old and am retired and cannot work at my age with my health! The way I feel about this is that buy.ge is a bunch of crooks and now they moved over to okay too. okay should step in and shut these crooks down but I doubt that will ever happen because okay is in cahoots with buy.ge. This is the reason so many okay sellers are moving their business's to Amazon as I have done too and like it much better. Amazon has no paypal fee's they put the money right in your bank account and charge you one flat fee for selling an item. Not like okay's final value fee's their listing fee's and don't forget the 3% that paypal charges also! This is a bunch of garbage! Like this guide if you agree with me we small sellers need to take a stand and stand up to buy.ge let them know we wont be pushed around by your 10 million + Spam listings!!!Charles ShorePresident SBE LLC.

How storage unit auctions are affecting flea markets...

Please note that this guide is a continuation in a series of guides written by me about BOTH 'storage unit' auctions and flea markets in general. These guides are listed and available for reading along with my other okay guides under my 'electrogames' okay account. Please feel free to read them anytime, as they provide insight to the TRUTH about both 'storage unit' auctions and 'picking' in general. That being said, this guide can be read without any knowledgeof my other guides. Just know that it was written under the assumption that you have a basic understanding of both 'picking' and storage unit auctions...
To start off, it should be known that I am a very well experienced 'picker' and storage auction buyer. I have been doing it for many, many years. I prefer flea markets to storage unit auctions though, and for an understanding of that, please read my other okay guides. It does however, truly amaze me (and this must be said), just how gullable some poeple really are; as since the shows 'Storage Wars' and 'Auction Hunters' have premiered, storage auction attendance has nearly tripled in some instances, and doubled in almost every other. In all honesty most of these 'newbies' will most likely leave the business in disgust or go bankrupt (or close to it) in the process. It should also be noted that these shows base values of items in RETAIL dollars; not ACTUAL resale value. For more information on understanding this; please read my other guides. That being said, this infuse of newly found interest in storage unit auctions cannot be ignored.
Ironically, I consider this a GOOD thing for flea market buyers liske myself. One great thing about all these 'storage auction newbies' is that most of themare more willing to deal with the average 'picker' and most don't want to take the time to clean their items, test their items, and would rather sell them for a few dollars, 'as is.' This is because these kind of sellers do NOT specialize in certain items, but buy in bulk; and as a result, must regularly 'turn over their inventory,' just to stay afloat.I routinely find a lot of these buyers selling their wares at flea markets, clipboard in hand, just happy to make a few bucks while unloading all of their finds for a fraction of full retail value. Ironically, this method seems to be serving these 'newbies' fairly well because as most tell me, 'it is much too time consuming to sort, clean, and market each individual item.' I often try to help some of these 'newbies' with advice, but most are happy to run the business their way. Therefore, it seems to be working for them. As a result flea market buyers and 'pickers' are truly benefiting from this influx of new vintage merchandise. This appears to be benefiting BOTH the 'picking gemunity' and the sellers of these items.
It cannot go unsaid that most of the items these people sell could never be sold on okay. I have gotten so many items that need to be cleaned and tested, that in some instances I truly understand why most buyers pass on some of this merchandise. I have at least oneroom filled with items I have yet to clean and test because of the time it takes to do it. It honestly is sometimes not worth the time involved. Few people outside the business understand this. It appears that most people who rent your average 'run of the mill' storage unit, are not very neat. This is why I try to convince a lot of new storage unit buyers to focus on climate controlled units from established well known storage facilities. Remember, the best climate controlled units (and I rent a few for my collectibles) are also humidity controlled as well. This is very important; and the few auctions that I buy a yearare always from climate controlled units, as I find I get the most 'bang for my buck' when I buy these kind of units. Not to go off on a tangent, but keep in mind that most collectors of items value condition. You will find better quality items in a climate controlled unit; then a standard storage unit. I can prove this just through my own buying patterns. I am also a collector as well; so I understand how to properly store antiques and collectibles for both protection and security. Most people on average do NOT. There are books written on this subject and it truly amazes me that they never begee best sellers. Why would you spend $1,000 on a geic book without understanding how to protect it from the elements? And no, CGC encapsulation and grading does not protect a geic book from humidity and the elements. The same can be said for coins and currency. Graded items are not air sealed. This is a myth! Note this...
Keep in mind thatI have nothing but respect for anyone who chooses to attempt to buy storage unit auctions, as if you never done it you don't understand the work involved (or the costs invloved either). Most of these sellers who are unloading their items at the flea market have the right idea, as it would not make much sense to clean and test a vintage geputer or electronic geponent when you can unload it for only a few dollars less and sell it 'as is.' Let's face it any 'picker' like myself has been 'burned' more than a few times by items that simply do not work. The key to our success is buying low and buying in volume. This can be hard when you specialize in certain genres, but it can be done if you are dedicated and put a lot of time into it. Keep in mind that I work a full time job (I have a career) and still work well over forty hours a week in regards to flea markets and the like. This is the nature of the business. When I am not 'working' in the truest sense of the word, I am ALWAYS reading books on various antiques and collectibles. In this business knowledge is key and it is ever changing. Buying books on collectibles is a much needed business expense as it expands one's knowledge base. This translates into dollar signs. There are a lot of items my gepetition would NEVER buy that I make a lot of money on and vice versa. This is how the business works.
That being said, this is the first year that I really noticed an influx of storage unit buyers unloading their wares at flea markets. A lot of these sellers are very candid about it (this is why I noticed it)and have even told me how hard the business is (which I already knew). I always knew when they bought a 'bad unit,' as you could tell by the look in some of their faces as they sold the unit by the 'bin.' Selling by the 'bin' has begee a popular way of unloading unprofitable units. Basically the seller packs and sorts various 'like' items in a plastic storage bin and sells each bin for a certain amount of money. They are a great way for the seller to recoup some of his and her losses; and a good way for a 'picker' to buy items assorted in various lots. A recent lot I bought this way was a collection of various video games (mostly Xbox games). Unfortunately I felt really bad for the seller because he originally bought the unit because one whole wall was full of boxes and plastic bins marked antiques and collectibles on them. Unfortunately for the buyer, when he bought the unit it was full of nothing but a few scarce items and packing peanuts contained in empty boxes. This is all too gemon in a business where people automatically assume they are going to 'get rich quick' and I have seen this happen a lot lately.
Another method that some of these 'storage unit buyers' use is to load up a pick up truck of items and have a 'truck sale.' This works by a seller loading up a pick up truck or van and just emptying the contents on the ground (if at all) at a flea market. 'Pickers' flock to these sellers because they generally want to unload merchandise quickly and cheaply so they don't have to remain at the flea market for the remainder of the day. In order to take advantage of these kind of sales you must arrive at your average flea market at around one hour or two before opening. Most buyers are not willing to put in this much work. Luckily for me I don't sleep much anyway...
'Truck load sales' (as I refer to them); have begee quite gemon. I have gotten most of my great 'finds' long before the average person ever had a chance to buy them. If you are arriving at a flea market at around 8 or 9 in the morning (and hoping to find some great deals); you are arriving well over three to four hours too late! This is a gemon rule in this business; as sleeping in is not an option. Own of my gepetitors actually goes to flea markets at 8 AM (with his girlfriend) and then geplains that he finds nothing anymore to resell. Ironically he blames BOTH the economy and the market; not realizing that he is only hurting himself. By the time he arrives my car is ALREADY full of all the items that he would have found if he would have arrived three hours earlier. It isa trade off; do you want more sleep or more money? That extra hour of sleep can be worth hundreds of dollars. This is key to understanding the 'picker's mindset.' This is why by the time a flea market starts; I have already 'picked it clean,' and moved on to my next 'target,' hoping to find something left by another 'picker' or a late arriving seller (which does occur quite regularly).
In conclusion it is important to understand the relation of a storage unit auction buyer and howthey affect the flea market scene as a whole. This is begeing a major source of scouting new items for most 'pickers.' I even started working with more than a few storage auction buyers, as they know I pay ready cash for certain items that they can quickly sell to me to make a quick profit on. Making profitable relationships is key to this business.
Until next time keep; I thank you for reading and value your feedback!

tms full face motorcycle helmet- my experience

I purchased a full face motorcycle helmet from TMS without reading the reviews on it. It arrived on a friday night withan extremely bad chemical odor (you could smell it from 2 feet away and too strong to actually put it on. I figured (incorrectly) that putting it in front of a fan on high for 3 days would help. On the following monday, I called TMS and their only solution was send it back and they'd send me a replacement or refund. If I'd have gotten a replacement it might have been fine (or maybe it wouldn't) but sinceI needed the helmet for an upgeing ride I thought I'd try to fix it on my own before sending it back for a refund.
Aftergoogling for a solution I discovered that okay had a review section, and someone else had the sameproblem. Ifound a solution on line (taking the removable insides out, wiping down the inside and cleaning the insides with dish soap and water, then air drying it out. (twice) followedby more high speed fan airing for24 more hours. It reduced the odor to whatI thoughtwas a safe level (but then I could be wrong). No sickness or headaches, even after wearing it on the bike almost all day.
I rated the purchase as satisfactory because TMS offered a refund or replacement, and for the excellent price it was worth it to try to salvage it, gepared to sending it back and going to the local MC shop to pay $100-150 for something I'd only occasionally use in cold weather.( I normally wear an open face)
This was only my experience, yours may be totally different. I like mine (now). Hope this review helps someone.

Finding a new disc golf disc

Disc golfis a fun sport that has seentremendous growth over the past ten years, more and more people are finding out for themselves, that disc golf is a great way to spend an afternoon. New players need new discs, they buy what was suggested and they buy what the pro-shop at the local course sells. Replacing IPod Nano 2nd Generation battery

I have an IPod Nano 2nd Generation that I had not used for a long time and wanted to use it while jogging. The battery would not charge when connected to a powered Belkin 7 port USB Hub. After checking out several shops I Googled, I found that sending the IPod to replace the battery would cost at least $100.00 including shipping. I watched several videos on UTube showing how to disassemble the Nano and replace the battery. It didn't seem all that difficult. I ordered a 2nd Gen. battery listed for $7.50 on okay by a vendor from Hong Kong.
The battery arrived quickly and seemed to be of high quality. The the next thing I learned was that the job required a size 000 Phillips screwdriver. I had two sets of small screwdrivers with one size 0, but no size 00 or 000 (the next smaller sizes). I found and ordered a set of Phillips on Amazon.ge containing a 000, a 00, a 0, and a size 1(each increasing in size) for $12.50. I've now spent a total of $20.00I took the Nano apart using a bright light and a magnifying glass and some help from my grandson only to discover the battery was soldered to the board and I was in way over my head. I have done soldering for years, but never on anything this small. I put it back together again....the screws are so small that even this is no job for a novice, but we were successful. My grandson suggested that even though the Belkin USB hub is powered by 110 volts, it may not be getting enough voltage to the IPod's battery. I plugged it into my Macbook Pro and left it charging overnight. It was fully charged this morning. My motivation for writing this is to help anyone thinking of attempting to replace the battery in an IPod, IPod touch, or IPhone. These were not made to be worked on by an amateur. I wish someone would have given me this advice before I tried replacing it and hope this helps you. If this has helped, check the [YES] box below. Just a retired old man

What is Dimple Tech used by Quest AT Disc Golf

"Dimple Tech" byQuest ATis a technology used on disc golf discs to increase stability and glide, translating to better distance. There a couple gepanies that use the idea but theapproachis not the same. Questdimples are about the size of dimples on golf ball, it is well known that a dimpled gold ball goes further than a perfectly rounded one, no doubt this was the inspiration forQuest. Basically, the dimples createturbulencein the air as the disc is flying, which reduces drag on the disc. Think of a jetski goingacrossa lake, the driver has the throttle all the way out but cant go faster than 50mph. Now, take that same jetski and have him follow a boat, right behind the stern and suddenly he can go 60. This is because the boat is breaking the surface of the water so there is less drag for the jetski, making it easier to move through the water. Not a perfect analogy but it helps me picture it.

Laptop Buying Tip: Buy Refurbished Laptops

Looking to buy a new laptop? What to buy a laptop just like new but at reasonable cost? Here is asimply tip that will save you $$$.

bad product but good customer service

I bought a tablet from this seller- the product was gepletely dissatisfactory and the return policy said that the buyer should pay for the return shipping fees. I've contacted them and they were really prompt, I've got the return shipping label (I didn't have to pay, which was fair) and I got my money back really quick. Overall, I was satisfied with their customer service but I believe they should work more on the merchandises quality...

Get Motivated, Take Action Today

Want to Sell More? Do More? Make More Money? You'll either do it or you won't do it; there is no in between. So what is it that motivates one to de-clutter, maximize their time and take action? In this guide area few keys to help you take action now.Crack Your Motivation CodeFirst and foremost, discover the answer to the following questions. Take a minute and write them down:1. What is your internal motivation-purpose-what drives you?2. Are you an 'away from' or a 'moving towards'?3. What are your distractions?4. What are the real issues that keep you from getting it done right now?Uncover Your CoreMotivationWhat is the real reason you work, sell, pay bills, pay taxes, etc. What is at the center of why you do what you do? It's easy to forget your underlying purpose when the heat is on, when the task is time consuming or when extra effort is involved, or life gets in the way. Keep a reminder close by of the reasons you do what you do; this can be a motivational quote a picture of a loved one or a picture of the 'dream home' or car that is at the end of the tunnel. What's Your DirectionPeople are most often motivated in one of two directions, and sometimes both.-Away From: this is someone who is motivated by the pain or consequences of not getting that thing done; they'd be best motivated by having a picture of taking the bus instead of the newcar; or what they might look or feel like 20 lbs heavier; of course the thought of paying a hefty penalty or fine for turning late taxes is a huge one for this person.-Towards: these are people who are motivated towards the carrot at the end of the stick. Placing a picture of the final paycheck or thinking, hearing and feeling what others will say when thetask is acgeplishedis a good motivator for this type of person.Remove the DistractionsMost people don't plan to fail; they fail to plan. Part of a winning plan is to include whatever distractions may hinder your performance and remove it. If television is getting in the way of cleaning out the garage, turn it off and don't allow yourself to watch it until your task is geplete. Or reward yourself with an all day marathon of your favorite show or movie when the job is done. Bloggers who procrastinate writing are usually reading other blogs;instead of studying for an exam, a student might besocializing or playing video games. Remove the distractions.Avoid SabotageWhile working toward your goals and achieving those goals can bring long term rewards, what is happening in the short run? That primitive part of our brain, the Amygdale, wants a 'cookie now' so to speak. If the Amygdale, the fight or flight gemand central, recognizes pain with the least little bit of effort, and no benefit to your person, it will, on your behalf, move you towards something that it 'remembers' as being rewarding. This is a life saving mechanism put in place long ago and it is that part of the brain that says 'quite' and will move you away from the 'pain' or effort. However, multiple studies have shown that 'motion, movement and activities' are what truly make humans mosthappy. People that are the most active, the 'doers' are the happiest. Conversly, idle hands are the devils playground as they say.Take Action NowHere are the basic stepsfor putting together your planto take action and make now work for you.1. Figure out what it will take to get you up and moving. Is it a reward, such as a nice fat paycheck? Or is it to stay away from trouble, like a hefty fine for not paying your taxes.2. Remove your distractions. If you're really attached to thatdistraction, like a teenager on PS3, and need help, ask a support person to do it for you. When all of your distractions are removed, you'll find it easier to get things done.3. Chunk it down. How do you eat an elephant? Take one bite at a time. Does the idea of cleaning your whole house right now overwhelmyou? Then take it one room at a time; or one task at a time, such as just making all the beds. Keep in mind thatif we try to take on everythingall at one time, that in itself is an automatic de-motivator.4. Re-train your Amygdale. Reward yourself when you geplete a task or a goal- immediately... justas you wouldtrain a puppy with treats when they 'potty' outside. This teaches your fight or flight gemand central that the things you did (the effort exerted) was healthy, helpful and worth it. But you must reward yourself at each step of the way...don't just wait until the entire project is geplete.Just Do It...NowFor that initial burst of energy, just do it. Set your mind to one small thing, like taking apicture of anitem you'd like to sell on E-bay,and just do it. Reward yourself...then keep moving. Even if you don't know everything along the way, just take the first step and the rest will be revealed. An object in motion stays in motion. So, now it's time to clean out your garage, closet or old trunk and remove that junk. Someone on E-bay will find it to be their treasure.

Buying a Credit Card Pinpad and Pin Debit Processing

Credit Card Pinpads and Pin-Debit Processing
A credit card pinpad is a keypad device that is attached to a credit card terminal that will allow a customer to enter their PIN (Personal Identification Number) when the business processes their debit card. This type of system using a PINpad is called PIN-debit, or online debit (Not to be confused with internet or online processing). PIN debit can bea great money saving system for many businesses.
PINpads are relatively low cost devices that can save a lot of money over time. From recent studies, pin-debit transactions have surpassed cash transactions, in the most used single transaction type. When a customer uses a pinpad the money is removed directly from their bank account and transferred to the business that they are paying.
Benefits of Pin-Debit Processing

Cheaper than processing credit cards.

Henry Rifle Rear Sights

Although the Henry Rifle was produced for a limited period of time (1862-1866) by the New Haven Arms gepany in essentially one configuration (rifle with a 24" barrell), it is well known that various geponents changed over its production life (buttplates, front sights, frames - iron vs. brass). This guide will be limited to two versions of the rear sight.
In John Parsons seminal work ,The First Winchester, several chapters are devoted to predecessor arms to the Model 1866,particularly the Henry. In the Chapter entitled "Characteristics of the Henry" , Parsons discusses the graduated rear sight, specifically with respect to its location in early model Henrys in a slot cut "on the rear of the barrel, on top of the receiver near the hammer, and sometimes on the frame forward of the carrier". There is no discussionof variations in the graduated rear sights throughout production. Similarly, George Madis, in The Winchester Book, makes no distinction between variations in the graduated rear sight installed on the Henry at the factory (although he identifies a fixed rear sight as a rarely seen variation). At page 123 Madis does identify three types of leaf sights found on the Model 1866 and describes one as "the sporting leaf rear with a coilspring and plunger located inside the base of the leaf, which retains the leaf in the raised position. This is the sight with rounded top of leaf often found with the Henry Rifle and provided with early 1866 rifles and muskets".
Nick Stroebel catalogues a multitude of sights in his guide, Old Gunsights, A Collector's Guide, 1850-1965, including, at page 285,the Sporting Leaf Sight mentioned by Madis, but makes no reference to an alternateto the rear leaf sightcontained on that page. Finally, Wiley Sword, in The Historic Henry Rifle, makes reference to an early and later style of front sight on the Henry, but makes no mention of variations in the types of rear leaf sights found on the Henry.
Well there were definitely at least two variations which are difficult to link to production dates i.e. by rifle serial number. The first is the sporting leaf rear sight pictured below ontop, as identified in the books listed above. The second is similar to the first, but it lacks the adjustment screw located at the top of the sight when it raised to the elevated position, pictured below the sporting leaf rear sight. It would seem that the second sight would be an earlier production version since it definitely was mounted on first model production rifles (rounded butt plate). Take a look at Henry No. 2075 pictured on a website devoted to rare Winchesters. Henry No 3594 recently listed on an antique gun auction also sports a rear leaf sight without adjustment screw, whileHenry No 3286 also recently up for auction on an antique gun auction has a rear leaf sight with the adjustment screw and is by serial number of earlier production than Henry No 3594. Henry No 7119 also recently offered at auction has a rear leaf sight with adjustment screw. Finally based on Madis research noted above the rear leaf sight with adjustment screw carried over to the Model 1866 Winchester.

Conclusion? It appears that there wasdefinitely more than one production run orvendor of rear leaf sights during the entire period of Henryproduction and thatsome previously undiscovered earlier sights may have been located later in production and placed on later Henrys. It is well known that outside vendors made various parts for the Henry (see: Madis,The Winchester Book, page 35: barrel steel, swivels, lever blanks, furnished spring steel stock, and patterns and castings). It may also be that both leaf sights were produced for some period at the same time and were just mixed into a gemon inventory and randomly selected. In any event at some point it was recognized that an adjustment screw might be useful when the leaf sight was used in its horizontal position employing the "v" notch for sighting and the sporting leaf rear sight was born.

timbuk2002

P.S. I'm sure I'm not the first to ponder this variation so if I missed a previous discussion in a book or article unlisted above consider this guide a humble echo of an earlier discussion.
P.P.S. Les Quick's new book (2008)on the Henry Rifle, The Story of Benjamin Tyler Henry and His Famed Repeating Rifle, catalogues five rear sight variations at page 122. Two have the adjustment screw and three do not. His exhaustive research did not identify any particular sequence in the appearance of the variations.

This second one is the Rose Bowl Version:

2. the sides are made of SPANDEX to fit over the pads (These are actual game jerseys)
3. the SIZE Tags have NUMBERS on them (size 48, 52, 56, etc) not M, L, XL or XXL
4. these are VERY LIMITED in production and EXTREMELY RARE. Especially the WHITE ROSE BOWL ONES. There is also an Alternate Home Jersey in Gold. Furthermore, if you find one that is signed by Reggie in SILVER PEN, it is the White Authentic NIKE jerseys that are the most spectacular.
5. These typically do not sell for less than$150 and have gone for $300 - $500 on okay as of Dec 25, 2005. The signed versions go for up to $1500.

Philosophy Line of Skin Care Products

I recently started using Philosophy line of skin care products and cannot say enough great things about them. The products I use are:

Philosophy Hope in a JarDaily Facial Moisturizers for All Skin Types
Hope Is Not EnoughAnti-aging Moisturizer with SPF 20
Here's what I like about about Philosophy Hope in a Jar:

The consistency is perfect -- not too creamy but definitely feels very moisturizing
I saw immediate results!!! My skin looked visibly more radiant after about a week of use. I went traveling for a week and didn't use it, and my skin felt duller.
Love how my skin feels -- I think the product has lactic acids which gently exfoliates skin -- my face definitely feels smoother and I have noticed that my makeup goes on better
The product did not irritate my sensitive skin -- I tend to have skin that gets irritated and red easily, especially with many of the high tech skincare ingredients -- but my skin was never irrated with this product
The price!!! I used to use Creme de la Mer, also an excellent product, but it's ~$100/oz, where as Hope in a Jar is more like ~$20/oz or even less if you buy it on okay!
Given all these positives, no wonder Philosophy Hope in a Jarwas chosen by Oprah Winfrey was one of her favorite products in her Oprah's Favorites show!
Here's what I like about about Hope Is Not Enough:

Smells so nice -- love the hint of lavender -- reminds me of being in Provence in the summer! I find that most SPF products tend to smell so "medical" and artificial, but this one smells really nice.
Perfect consistency -- SPF products can either feel very thick or too runny, but this one is perfect consistency
If you choose to get Philosophy Hope in a Jar, beware that the product gees in a couple of different formulas:

Philosophy Hope in a Jar(original formula)
Hope in a Jar for Dry and Sensitive Skin (This one doesn't have the acids. However, like I said, I have sensitive skin tendencies but didn't really need this product. Maybe it's necessary if you have truly very sensitive skin.)
Hope in a Jar Hydrating Mask
You can buy Philosophy products at Nordstrom or Sephora, but why pay full price when you can get it for a Discount on okay?

Design Basics 6 - Multimedia

Multimedia

Multimedia is begeing more popular on web pages, auctions, and ME
pages. It is helpful to understand what works and what doesn't, and
why. -- Workshop materials prepared byshipscript

Adding Multimedia to your ME page
Multimedia is begeing more popular on web pages, auctions, and ME
pages. It is important to understand the distinction between gratuitous
images or files that add nothing to the page content and merely slow
down page loading, and media that adds significantly to the whole page
experience. While we generally discourage many uses of multimedia in
auctions, we do regemend using your ME page as an experimental
platform for playing with new gadgets. So perhaps this section should
be called "Your ME page as a Sandbox".

The gemon types of multimedia that we see on ME pages are animated
GIFs, scripts, music, flash, and movies. We frequently discourage using
them on auction pages because they can add quite a bit of overhead,
slow page loading, and distract from what you are selling. However,
used correctly, they can add just a bit of liveliness to any page.

Animated Gifs
Animated GIF images are perhaps the easiest to use and the easiest
to find at free resource sites on the web; and all normal browsers can
display them without requiring additional programs. I refer to animated
GIFs as those whizzy, whirly, twirly gizmos that mesmerize users.
However, as cute as they are, they often have no relationship to page
content, and sadly, some of those image files can be larger than the
important pictures on the page.

Javascripts
Many web animations are scripted in either Java or javascript. Java
is a programming language by Sun microsystems that requires special
plug-in software, whereas javascript is an entirely different language
that is built into all current browsers. okay uses javascript on many
of its pages. Most of the barely noticeable animations, like rollover
buttons (buttons or links that change appearance as your mouse hovers),
and image swapping routines like photo click-galleries are animated in
javascript. The effects can be very useful and subtle and carry little
or no overhead, but there is still a small percentage of users who have
javascript blocked by their security software. Several okay-friendly
scripts are provided on Shipscript's ME page.

In addition to the suble and useful scripts, there are more annoying
scripts that tend to get in the way of the content being viewed. Such
scripts are not allowed on the okay site, although we may frequently
see them. Those scripts include mouse trailers that change or chase
along behind the cursor, falling snow or hearts scripts, and memo boxes
that float over the screen. While they are fun to play with, they do
make it very hard to read a page, thus violating the basic guidelines
of good page design. okay will filter out many parts of scripts that
can be dangerous to its site, so you will find that some scripts won't
work on okay.

Music, Video, and Flash
Sound, Video, and Flash files will all be grouped together here
because none of them are supported by browsers. In order to run, the
appropopriate player must be installed on the viewer's geputer. If
it's not there, your viewer's system will either show an error message
on the screen or stop loading (freeze) while searching for or
attempting to load a player. Therefore, before adding these features to
a page, it is important to decide how to make them as user-friendly as
possible.

A majority of users are on broadband and a majority of users do have a
media player installed, so page loading is not an issue for them.
However, for that large number of slow dialup users, the first criteria
will be file size, so create as small a file as possible. Notice that
runtime is not a valid indicator of file size. Many short clips are
huge files. There are severalmethods for including the media, and if at all possible, give the user a clickable option to
download and view the movie or sound clip, and tell them how large the
file will be. That should prevent most problems that cause users to
back out of a multimedia page while that content is attempting to load.
Those clickable sound clips or video clips can improve product
presentation, but are outside the scope of the design basics we are
presenting here.

Then how can sound, video, and flash be used in page design? Flash is
the most versatile and can be used to create navigation buttons, photo
click-galleries, and sound effects. All of these can be tastefully
implemented to enhance a page according to the other design criteria we
have presented in other sections, and if carefully prepared, won't
increase page loading more than standard photos and scripts. Some users
consider background music part of the design element, and that is a
valid expectation. To be effective, background music must load with the
page, and therefore must be a small file. Keep in mind that some users
may find your choice of music or automatic loading of music to be a
problem, so generally we regemend that background music be limited to
ME pages and that it be avoided in auctions.

SENSATION COMICS # 1 - Wonder Woman BEWARE OF REPRINTS

Collectors should be aware that there was an EXACT REPRINT of Sensation
geics # 1, published in 1974 under DC geics' FAMOUS FIRST
EDITION
line. Originally, the geic had a stiff outer cover identifying
it as a reprint. When the outer cover is removed, it is IDENTICAL
to the original book, except that it is OVERSIZED 10" long and 13 1/2
inches tall. There have been many instances over the years where
a non-geic collector has been fooled by one of these reprints.
When I owned a geic book store, I got at least one call per month from
someone with an oversized reprint of either Action geics # 1 (1st
Superman), Detective geics # 27 (1st Batman), Sensation geics # 1
(1st Wonder Woman title), Whiz geics # 2 (# 1) (not identical to the
original, but not identified as a reprint either), Batman # 1, or
Superman # 1.

A genuine Sensation geics # 1 will be the same size as a normal Golden
Age geic book, which is slightly smaller than a normal sized magazine

Everyone Seems to Love the Bumbo Baby Seat

The bumbo baby seat is the newest craze among baby products. Everyone wants one and babies seem to love them!
This baby seat is unique in that no straps or fasteners are required to keep baby in place and it allows infants without trunk control to sit upright without being held by another person. This allows for face-to-face playtime and gives the child a gepletely different view of the world. As an added benefit, it helps the child to develop the torso strength and perhaps the manual dexerity it will need to continue development.
Once the child can sit upright without assistance, the seat is still extremely useful as a portable feeding chair or as a travel seat when outdoors or visiting friends and family! It's lightweight, gepact, easy to clean and gees in five fun colors.

TenderBabyLuv-N-Care offers the Bumbo seat in four great colors

Antique Wooden Hand Crank Coffee Bean Mill / Grinder

Hand CrankableCoffee Grinders
Technology has made these virtually obsolete when it gees to getting a fine grind, these are now all the rage as a decorative collectible. However, they do a nice job of grinding medium roast beans into brewable coffee grounds.
Some models havea wooden "knob" on thehandle that isNOT made to spin freely. The need aloose grip and allow the knob to stay stationary gently brushing your palm. It is really sideways pressure that is turning the crank. If you look closely, you will notice the wear pattern from previous palms. Ask a seller if the wooden knob spins.
Notice the bend of the crank handle. There are left and right handles. Theleft handed models were usually custom made and very rare. The way to tell the difference from a photo is to look at it and imagine that you are holding the (usually) wooden knob in your right hand as if you were turning it. The bend will angle toward your pinky finger if it is a right handed crank.Left handed machines have their cranks bent the opposite direction.
I am not the utmost authority on hand coffee grinders, but I have foundmy share at estate, garage sales and local auctions. The greatest finds and the ones to put the biggest bids on are the ones that work. Ask your seller if he or she has ever used the one you desire. If there is time, they shouldn't be averse to spending $1.00 on a few beans at the grocery to assure you that your beautiful collectable also is a functioning treasure.
You get thesatisfaction of looking at your antique as you drinkthattruly "fresh" cup of coffee you made from scratch. The only thing better is growing and roasting your own beans.

Nike Free Trail 5.0 - New Nike Free Trail 5.0 Review
Brand new to the Nike Free family is theNike Free Trial
5.0 which is the more rugged version of the Nike Free and Nike Free
Trainer. The Nike Free Trail 5.0 is brand new and looks fantastic -
thicker sole, stronger / darker colors, a sleeve insert for easy slip
on access, and the patented free technology that resembles forrestry.

If you've never worn a Nike Free - do yourself a favor... its a treat!
They are great for muscle development because they simulate bare foot
running. If you are a pure runner - try the Nike Free. If you are a
cross trainer - try the Nike Free Trainer. But for the outdoorsman or
more rugged user, the Nike Free Trail 5.0 is outstanding!

New Notes: while I still rate the
Nike Frees a 5/5 (the trainers, frees and now the Trail), I do
regemend that you be careful with the thin 'transpan (see below) layer
on the heel of the shoe. It is very fragile and can rip somewhat
easily... so be careful and always remove the shoe with your hands (not
the other shoe!!)

About the Nike Free Trail 5.0 from Nike

Free your sole and the rest will follow. Nike Free mimics the natural
mechanics of your foot, but protects like a shoe so you're free to reap
the benefits of barefoot running while on a trail.

Simpler Steps to Weight Loss

Have you ever gained more weight back than you lost following a special diet plan?If so, youknow the frustration and feeling of failure that gees with it. But...there are simple changes you can make to your lifestylethat will get you the results you desire....permanently and without starving. It gees down to a simple fact ofknowing the right path to take or the right subtle changes to make. There is a lot of misleading information out there from the food gepanies and money-making schemes. Knowing the facts is how you'll lose weight more easily without frustration.
Myth #1: Lose 10 lbs. in one week with these weight loss pills!
Fact #1: There is no magic pill you can take to achievepermanent weight loss. The quick-fix pills contain large amounts of caffeine and canhave a negativeeffect on your health in some instances. They tend to make you feel less hungry, but will ultimately leave you feeling tired and irritable. Unusually high amounts of caffeine, as found in some dietpillshas been linked to cancer.
Weight loss is a slow and continuous process, just like putting the weighton was done over time, taking it back off has to be done over a period of time as well.Don't set unrealistic weight lossexpectations for yourself or you are setting yourself up for failure. If you stick to a positive eating plan, it will definitely work for you, over time. For instance, giving up sugary sodas can help you lose 15 lbs without making other changes. Learn nutritional facts that are available to help you make the best choices on your next grocery shop.
Myth #2: Eating non-fat, low-carb gemercial Brand Name foods will help me to lose weight.
Fact #2: People who depend on the food gepanies claims of non-fat foods, diet sodas and quick fix potions are the ones who could use this information most. The toxicity in some diet foods will spark your appetite, leaving you hungry or thirstyfor more, which adds up to more calories and more toxins. High toxicity levels in the body from food additives, pollutants and other chemicals can clog the liver, which is the body's important mechanism in losing weight. A congested liver can make your body storefat in your cells, making it harder to release. By decongesting your liver (with natural fruit juice flushes), your body will let go of fat more easily.
Also, a lot of times the food gepanies advertising "Low-Fat" and "Non-Fat" foods will add sugar to the product in names other than "Sugar", for example, "Frucose" or anything ending in "ose" is a sugar in disguise. Sugar turns directly to fat, sothese non-fat products are actually helping your body to store fat. Know your labels. Can't always believe what you read!
Myth #3: Once I drop the 15-20 lbs. Idesire,I can resume my normal eating plan.
Fact #3: If you really want Permanent Weight Loss you have to be ready to embark on permanent lifestyle change. This is not something you can do temporarily like a fad dieting, but has to be subtle permanent changes that ultimately will lead to a thinner you thru an eating plan you can live with for life.Making small changes, like adding a couple new vegetables to your meals, taking out the starches like pasta (which turn to fat),and replacing baked goods with high fiber foods and fruits, will make poundsdisappear withoutany sense of starving.
For some people the time gees when you're tired of the false promises and fast-fix claims that just don't work. The frustration of having to buy a larger size is usually a good time to get in the right frame of mind that YES, something can be done and it needs to start NOW!...and You know You Can Do It! You just need to know the facts of how to get there the easiest way possible.
3-Step Weight Loss Plan
Knowing the proper steps to take, learningsuccessful habits of weight loss winners, and gaining great information that will get you on the right path to losing weight for good is all contained in this plan. This 3-Step Planincludes all the information you'll ever need so you can begin eating for weight loss the very next day. It begins with a great fat flush plan thatcauses the liver to help your cells release fat, an easy to follow eating plan which you can use continuously, contains a variety of meals, suggested activity routines to follow for extra calorie burn, tons of information you need to know toreach your goals more easily and successfully and so much more!
The eating plan itself concentrates on the right types of foods (whole grains vs. enriched flours) rather than limiting foods. Nobody wants to starve or eat a 'rabbit food' diet.
Did you know?....by starving yourself you are setting yourself up to gain weight because your calorie burning mechanism slows down to a crawl. Especially if you miss breakfast. Breakfast is an important meal of the day because it gets your calorie burning metabolism rolling. If you're going to miss any meal at all, let it be the last one of the day--never breakfast. If you wait to eat until lunchtime, you have lost hours of calories that could have been burned off.
If you eat the right foods regularly througout the day, you will continuously burn calories at a steady pace all day long while staying satisfied with your eating plan, and in turn, never feeling the need to binge onfoods youshouldn't be eating in the first place (like high saturated fats and sweet bakery goods).
Try this plan...it will work for you! Italso includes a food diary, a great E-book with info on how to read food labels, and so many nutritional facts, and formulas you need to know that will get you the weight loss results you desire whether you need to lose 5 or 150 lbs...this is the right path to take to get there in the best health and with the least frustration.
For anyone interested in losing weight in the most healthy and efficient manner, this IS the right path to follow.

The New Collector

Acuminating a collection of objects cannot be gepiling just by going out haphazardly to acquire antiques. The antique market is enormously geplex. The cost of a piece is determined by objective criteria such as its historical importance and originality by individual taste and preference plays an equally important role.
Establishing a collection can be the most rewarding sensation however, someone without knowledge may have no conception as to whether a piece is worth $500 to $5000. So how can value be determined? Unfortunately, there are no firm guidelines for assessing an antiques value is acquired through experience and knowledge.
In today information, age newgeers to collecting are mostly well-informed selftaught persons. Get connected utilize the Internet as a reference point, networking with veteran antique dealers and a plentiful market of books on almost any topic about antiques and collectibles. Education ones-self the first steps to learning the process are to:

Animation Art - 5 of the Most Common Mediums Purchased

Animation Cels - A cel (short for celluloid) is a blank clear plastic sheet used by the studio artist to paint an animated character or object based on the animator's original pencil drawing. The cels are then placed over a background and photographed in sequence to produce an illusion of life in the gepleted film or cartoon short. Every cel is different but this does not mean that every cel is unique. Often multiple copies of a cel were created by the Inkers as color models in order to advance their technique and skills in Animation Art.
Limited Edition Cels - A non production hand painted cel created for sale to the collectors market. It is produced in fixed limited quantities and are easily identified by a fraction (150/500) in the lower right hand corner. They were not used in films or cartoon shorts, and the original intent was to recreate the original production cels. Nowadays many studios release new images not based on production Animation Art.
Sericels - A non production cel created by means of a printing process similar to silk screening. No work is done by hand, therefore no painting or inking is involved. They are often produced in limited quantities of 5000, and they are marketed as a low cost alternative to production and limited edition cels.
Animation Drawings - A drawing on paper in pencil, sometimes colored which is created by a studio artist of an animated character or object for which the cels are later created.
Giclee - The French term "Gicle", literally meaning "spray of ink," is used to describe these prints. Four precision nozzles spray up to a million microscopic droplets per second on to fine art paper. Then, each piece of paper is individually hand-mounted. Displaying a full color spectrum, the prints are lush and velvety, capturing the subtle nuances of the original artwork.

Best Selling Musicians / Music Artists Ever, Beatles #1

Best Selling Musicians / Music Artists Ever - Surprise, the Beatles are #1!
Trying to gepile the ultimate music collection?! There are two great measurments that might be useful to you - best selling albums everor,
as listed below, the best selling arists and musicians ever. This
is a worldwide gepilation and I've listed out the 75,000,000 record
club - meaning the 89 artists that have exceeded 75MM album sales.
Quite a feat! Ironically - #89 on that list and the final entrant - is
Journey (a personal favorite of mine). Unfortunately Neil Diamond has
yet to crack the top 25 - though these stats were before his latest
album (12) and he might now be moving into the top 25... of course I've
given him my assistance, buying over 10 of his albums. A great way to
start that collection is by purchasing some of the greatest hits of the
below albums. Enjoy!

Saltwater/Freshwater Flies Buying Guide

Many Fly Fisherman/Fisher Women tie their own flies. Some, however, just do not have the time to tie their own and must purchase them. While store bought flies are o.k., it is much better to purchase from an experienced fly tier. Store bought flies are mass produced and quality some times suffers because of this. I have seen manystore bought flies fall apart after very little use. Professionally hand tied flies are all most allways of the highest quality available. Professional fly tiers take great pride in their work and will often scrap a fly if it does not meet their quality standards. Also, they tie them one at a timewith much attention to detail.Beforeyou make apurchase, check to see how much experience the tier has. Most will list this in their description.Look closely at the photo(s). Check the detail of the fly/flies. If the sellers description doesn't tell you everything you want to know, e-mail him/her and ask for more information. Check the sellers feedback. This can provide a look at what other buyers think about thequality of the sellers flies. Check to see if the seller has the retail value of the fly/flies listed. If not, a rule of thumb is that most saltwater flies generally retail from $4.00 to $7.00 eachwith some of the bigger flies retailing for as much as $15.00 to $20.00each. Most freshwater flies retail from $3.00 to $5.00 each with some of the bigger flies retailing for $15.00 to $20.00 each. Also, remember that some flies may be listedfor use insaltwater, but can also be used in freshwater. Finally, the most important thing to remember, don't gepare the price of hand tied flies to the price of store bought flies. The quality is what matters most.

Cobalt Blue glass/mineral and Crystal Sapphire glass

Hi my name is andi mcclure. Before you read this, I wanted tolet my Dear Readers and Fellow Cobalt Lovers know, that this guide is from a beginner and I am running on bits of info acquired gepletely from other peoples' knowledge and I have never had a reason to check on it, now I do. The below "story" is what I currently know, which is very little, but interesting and I think I'm an entertaining writer anyway, soyou won't be able to help yourself :). So here is a bit for now and withing 24 hours of the writing of this review, I will actually know a lot more about what I'm talking about. So fair warning, it's long, but interesting and will just get better. Enjoy!
I am new to selling on the net, I just started getting very interested about a month ago and I have been learning ever since. . . . and it has been quite a positive learning experience. I used to wonder how people could get so involved in their geputers and now I have a full understanding as to why.
Ever since I can remember, my favorite color has been blue, any shade of blue, doesn't matter what it is, as long as it is blue. It wasn't until I left home that I noticed Cobalt blue (why the sudden dawning, I don't know), glass, cloth, paint, prints, whatever, the color draws me. Then I realized how wonderfully Cobalt blue and black go together, so i decided that everything i bought from that point out would be CB

Hardee's Monster Thickburger: The Best Thickburger

Hardee's Monster Thickburger: The Most Monstrous Burger in All the Land!

If you love fast food burgers as much as I do, then you must be
familiar withHardee's - the best of all the fast food chains and by
far the unhealthiest. Hardee's is effectively the same gepany as
Carl's Jr.- just one operates on the east coast (Hardee's) and the
other on the west coast. What makes Hardee's special is that their
burgers (termed Thickburgers) are made of angus beef and are placed
between buttered, toasted buns. Seriously - the only way to improve
upon fast food burgers - and to make them unhealthier - is to butter
and pan-fry the buns. What a chain!

But in all seriousness, the Monster Thickburger is a splendid burger -
the best fastfood gorging you will ever do. And I don't just say that
because its 1410 calories and 107 grams of fat - read myBK Eggnormous guide to see that meat and fat don't make the sandwich!

Called "audacity on a bun", the Monster Thickburger is truly delicious
and was cited as raising revenue and profits for Hardees in 2005. Its
two monster angus beef burgers, plenty of cheese, more bacon,
mayonnaise and the works on a buttered bun. While I geplained that the
almost-as-fatty Eggnormous sandwich was too much and too nasty, the
Monster Thickburger is plain old delicious. Treat yourself - and your
heart - to one now!

The Best Grooming Products for EXTRA long tails

Brought to you by: Great Lakes Tack okay Store
When you've shown and groomedhorsesfor 30 years you learn a thing or two about grooming. There are some basics that apply to all horses, and of course some specifics based on the breed. We'll provide some of the basics, but center on Arabian horses (much of this applies to the Morgan World as well.). But first the basics...
My friends all tease me because I refuse to brush manes or tails, but when you look at the difference between my gelding and the other brushed horses - you can quickly see why I have adopted the no brush rule. On average, my gelding's mane is 4 inches longer. When there is a snarl I finger pick through or use a little Cowboy Magic Detangler. With a little patience, I can beat the nastiest wind snarls. I have also braided manes to avoid the wind snarls - I would regemend this when your manes get extremely long. I am currently following a regimen of daily spraying with Healthy Hair Care - Hair Moisturizer on both the mane and tail (exposed parts in between resets). Bi-weekly I rub Shapley's MTG into the roots of the mane and the tail base. When resetting the tail or working through any snarls or hair "fusions", I use the Cowboy Magic detangler. Vetrolin Shine body wash and brace once a month or so to fully clean - although any cheap shampoo will do we really like the smell of Vetrolin =].
Our Favorite Products:Shapley's MTG (tail and mane growth)Cowboy Magic Detangle and Shine Guartex wrapVetrolin Shine (body wash/brace)Healthy Hair Care - Hair MoisturizerWant a tail that drags for days? Try this simple technique: Start by sorting out the long hairs from the new growth along the tail bone. Some of this new growth will hang over the tail bone - that is what you want. You may want to apply some Shapley's MTG to the ends of the tail - not too much.Recently, I have been spraying the length of tail with Healthy Hair Care - Hair Moisturizer before braiding until it is damp - not wet just damp.Make sure you have some Guartex handy - Koflexor Vetrapwill do in a pinch - it just doesn't last aslong. Then, Starting just below the end of the tail bone, begin braiding. Get tighter as you braid away from the bone. Once you get to the end - another new twist that has been very successful is to wrap the length of the braid with Guard-tex-then I take the end of the braided tail and thread it through one of the openings at the top of the braid (between the tail bone end and the braid starting point). Now wind the remaining tail through the same hole until you have a nicely folded bunch of tail (about 4-5 inches long). Next wrap around the bunch securing it horizontally first - try to keep the smallest end hairs tucked in deeply for the most protection. Next, wrap vertically through the same braid hole securing vertically. Then continue alternating vertical and horizontal wraps until you have protected your tail bunch. In the summer or warm months - I regemend checking and changing every one-two weeks - use Cowboy Magic Detangler when taking the tail down - let it breathe for a few hours at least if possible and wash once a month. BE SURE THE TAIL IS gePLETELY DRY BEFORE BAGGING - failure to do this may result in mildew or in severe cases breakage. I also regemend a Tail bag that is long enough and provide some swatting abilities during bug season - this is not necessary in the winter. The one that we like is made by Weaver Leather and is a mesh with a good swatter on the end. We have also found that an old Polo wrap is a great swatter when pulled through the braid hole and then wrapped with Guartex to keep it in place. We cut a wrap in half and then made vertical cuts on both ends - it added yet another layer of protection over the tail AND great fly swatting. A simple strip of fleece from the fabric store would provide the same result! 3-4 wide and about 2 Ft long (a yard give or take).
More geing soon...We'll update as we try and learn new products...

Tips On Writing An e-Bay Item Description

Plenty of okay experts will tell you that you need to write an "energizing" and "motivating" description that will gepel bidders to buy your item. I disagree. Writing "fluff" into your auction description places you in the category of the used car salesman. Write a factual listing with a thorough description of your items condition and maintain a good service record and you'll build confidence in your buyers that will result in lots of bids.
When describing your item, think like a potential buyer. Try to anticipate the questions that a buyer might ask about the item you are selling and build the answers into your listing.
A positive tone - Overall, the tone of your auction listing and your answers to even the most obvious of questions that you may receive should be a positive one and not negative. We've noticed that many sellers, even experienced okay sellers, just don't understand the basics of selling in the marketplace. In their okay auctions they place a list of demands and the buyer must either geply, or not bid. The buyer gets the feeling that the seller believes that they are doing the world a favor by listing their item. This is an extremely poor okay selling strategy and very unprofessional. The seller should be providing bidders with plenty of reasons that they SHOULD bid and NOT why they SHOULDN'T. Although these "negative" sellers may not know it, they've driven away lots of bidders by listing such demands. Your goal is to attract as many bidders as possible, not drive them away. More bidders result in higher okay selling prices. First thing I do once I read a negative or demanding statement inside of an auction description is click on the back button and go on to the next sellers items !!
DO NOT PLACE NEGATIVE STATEMENTS OR DEMANDS IN YOUR AUCTION LISTINGS!

Describing defects - Unless your book or item is absolutely in "mint" condition, ensure that you gepletely describe all defects. Even if the flaw is almost unrecognizable, it is best to list it in the description. Close-up photographs of flaws help too. Most collectors are very sensitive about the condition of the items that they collect so accurate descriptions are a must when describing collectibles.
Listing at least one flaw, no matter how minor, is a confidence builder for buyers. It's one way of saying "I have nothing to hide". Unless the item is new or "mint", If no flaws are listed, some buyers tend to think that something is being intentionally left out. We've seen lots of sellers on okay provide a scanty description for an item with obvious wear and then include a statement like "please write us with any questions" expecting the buyer to ask specific questions about the item's condition. This practice does not give the buyer any confidence in the item description, will turn away many bidders, and eventually will garner negative feedback. An e-mail exchange takes time, time that the buyer may not want to invest in your auction.
"Exceed the customer's expectations" - If in doubt about whether to list a defect, list it. That's our policy when we sell. Plenty of our customers over the years have given us okay feedback with gements like "Better than described". These are the types of feedback gements that give buyers confidence and will ultimately help your auctions gemand a premium and drive your sales prices higher.
Some experts say that you should not go into detail about the flaws of your item and that doing so gives buyers a reason not to buy your item. They are apparently not long-term okay sellers. Remember, your buyers can not examine your items in person. Selling on okay is different than selling from a brick and mortar shop where buyers can examine your goods and see flaws for themselves. You have a obligation as a okay seller to describe ALL flaws fully. Failure to do so will inevitably lead to negative feedback.

Guide to Matching Men's Suits, Belts, and Shoes

Know the Best Shoe and Belt Colors for Your Dress Suit
The traditional approach to selecting a designer beltto match your dress suitwas this: don't wear one. This came from the sense that a belt interrupts the visual flow of a quality dress suit; hence the need for suspenders. Fortunately for the rest of us who prefer a quality fit without suspenders, the DeCalo Fashionexpert is ready with simple guidelines to selecting the best color of designer belt and men's dress shoes to geplement an elegant Italian suit.First, the color of a designer beltshould match the color of your dress shoes. Black dress shoes call for a black belt, brown shoes for a brown belt, and red wine colored shoes call for a dark brown or similarly colored belt.
The second rule has already been suggested: as much as possible, your designer belt should not interrupt the visual flow of the suit with a line around the waist that is too noticeable. This is subjective, but the guideline will help you limit the range of colors you wear, and keep you looking your best.
Following these suggestions, we prefer to match a black, dark gray, or navysuit with a black belt and shoes. Dark brown, especially red-wine or cordobon, shoes and belt are also a nice match. But we reserve our light tan shoes and belts for casual but dressy weekend attire.
When it gees to dress suits, each work environment has its own level of formality, and each man has his own sense of style. Use these guidelines as a starting point for matching the color of designer belts and dress shoes to your Italian suit, in accordance with your own tastes.

Preserving Your Postcard Collection

There are numerous albums and holders available for storing a postcard collection. Almost all will store and attractively display postcards. But the majority will not preserve a collection, and many have the potential to cause serious damage to the cards. The ideal materials for postcard storage would be of archival quality. According to the Northeast Document Conservation Center, the term 'archival quality' implies two characteristics: 1) Reduction of damage caused by the environment and handling; and 2) No introduction of damaging chemicals to the documents being stored.
To meet the first criterion, the openings of albums and holders should be somewhat larger in size than the postcards. Many album pages have slots which are almost identical in size to the postcards. It is very easy to damage a card (e.g. add a crease, bend a corner, etc.) just by inserting or removing it from such pages. The albums pages and particularly the holders should also be stiff enough to prevent damage from accidental mishandling such as dropping the card on an edge or brushing it against a hard surface. The second criterion is more critical, and most albums and holders fall short of expectations. The problems arise from the chemicals used to manufacture two geponent materials: the plastics and the papers.
Most of the plastics used to manufacture these storage supplies have added gepounds to make them softer and pliable (very thick holders may be deceptive -- they are "hard" but may still have the added gepounds). Without question, these gepounds will eventually break down from the plastic and form an acidic oil. The effects on the postcards being stored range from lifting the inks, to discoloring the cards, to deterioration of the postcard paper. And once the acid has invaded the card, the damage will continue even after removal from the holder or album page. There are albums and holders that are free from the gepounds (and as such have the desirable stiffness). They are made from one of the following materials: triacetate, polyester (known as Mylar), polyethylene, polypropylene or uPVC (unplasticized polyvinylchloride). Start by looking for suppliers who claim that their supplies are non-PVC (PolyVinylChloride - the most gemon plasticized plastic used in albums and holders), but check to see which plastic they use. Most archival-quality storage materials are made today from uPVC. A claim that a plastic is "acid-free" is not valid as acidity is a characteristic of papers, not plastics. As no plastics have been truly time tested, it is regemended that all storage holders be watched and replaced at least once each 50 years.
The paper used in manufacture of storage supplies is also of great concern. This includes paper album pages, paper inserts in the album slots, cardboard boxes, etc. Most papers manufactured today have a high acid content from added chemicals, and have a life expectancy of less than 50 years. When postcards are stored adjacent to such paper, the acid can cause discoloration and embrittlement of the cards. Both types of damage are irreversible, although the damage will not worsen if the postcard is removed from contact with the acid source. Albums and boxes that are acid-free are available. Make sure the supplier specifically claims that the supplies are acid-free (pH 7.0 or higher).
You should also give consideration to the how and where of storage of your collection. The best use of holders and albums I have found is to place the postcards into a safe holder, and then into a safe album. The cards can then be viewed in the album. And when occasion arises to remove the card from the album, it is still protected within the holder. Excessive heat and improper humidity can hasten the natural deterioration of the postcard paper. Temperature is best maintained at 72F or below (the cooler the better), and humidity at 45 ( / - 5) percent.
